Our Distinctives - The Gospel

Romans 1:16 tells us that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The simple message is that Jesus Christ came, died, and rose again in order to bring us to God and make all of God’s creation all that He intended it to be. Sin has separated us from our Creator and ruined God’s good creation. Through Jesus, we can return to Him and be used by Him to make manifest His rule and reign throughout all the earth. Though simple, this message is central to the Scriptures and therefore, central to our thought and ministry.

Some may regard it as basic - and maybe it is - but in our experience, basic is good. Indeed, we believe that this basic gospel should inundate everything that we say and do. For the gospel is not only the means by which God saves His people, but also the means by which God sanctifies and revives and comforts His people. Much of our weakness as a church today is due to either our misunderstanding of the gospel or our failure to properly inundate all that we say and do with the gospel. The Bible is gospel-centered truth - and we want to be faithful to the Bible. Therefore, our aim is to increasingly become gospel-centered people and a gospel-centered ministry.
